Abstract

PURPOSE:To stamp simply by pressing a stamp against a work, without any positional deviation in operating the stamp, and enable automation of a stamping operation, by providing a positioning part for a cylindrical work, a sucking part for holding the work by suction, and a guide part for guiding a rubber part in a curved form in conformity with the shape of a surface to be stamped of the work. CONSTITUTION:A robot 5 comprises a stamp head 6 at the tip of an operating arm 5a thereof. The stamp head 6 is opposed to a work W, and a blanket 11 is moved forward until the tip 18 of a positioning part 14 makes contact with the work W. Simultaneously, a vacuum is applied to a sucking part 19 by an evacuating device, thereby holding the work W by suction. Then, a cylinder 20 is operated to move a stamp 23 forward to bring a rubber part 24 thereof into contact with the work W. In this case, the rubber part 24 is deformed into a curved shape by being guided by a rod 26, and conforms to the cylindrical surface of the work W. Therefore, clear stamping can be achieved without need for a swinging operation used in the prior art.
