Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten exposure time and eliminate the need for difficult adjustment of light exposure, by controlling the contrast of an input image through controlling the density of a mask original plate. CONSTITUTION:After inputted red, green and blue image data are separately recorded in monochrome on a heat-sensitive paper F, a photo- and pressure- sensitive paper 7 is exposed through three mask original plates for red, green and blue, and is fed to a pressure fixing part 8 for pressure fixation. The intensity of the contrast of an output image is controlled by switching density- controlling levers 12 provided in an operator panel 13. A higher contrast image can be obtained by setting the printed density of the mask original plate to be higher so that the difference in transmittance between a printed area and a non-printed area of the mask original plate is greater. The printed density of the heat-sensitive paper F to be used as the mask original plate can be easily controlled by controlling the duration of strobe printing pulses. Thus, the intensity of the contrast of the output image can be controlled by varying the transmittance through varying the printed density of the mask original plate, while maintaining the light exposure by use of a light source 5 to be constant.
