Abstract

943, 562. Printing from colour negatives. ILFORD Ltd. Aug. 30, 1962 [Sept. 5, 1961], No. 31880/61. Headings G2A and G2C. In making colour prints by exposing print material to a plurality of coloured lights through a colour negative requiring a different duration of exposure to each colour each light source generates at least two but is filtered to provide only one of the required colours. When sufficient exposure to the least required colour is attained the filter on the appropriate light source is replaced by one giving a colour still required. Similar replacement of filters is effected successively as sufficient exposure to each colour is attained. Suitable apparatus comprises three sources of white light each fitted with selectively interposable filters for each primary colour and a light integration box. In the drawing 1, 2 and 3 are white light sources, 4, 5 and 6 are plates carrying filters for each primary colour A, B and C (shown in the position for the initial exposure), 7 is the integration box and 8 a capping shutter. The system may be controlled electronically e.g. photo-cells sensitive to each colour may actuate an electronic circuit to effect the various filter change when the required exposure to the appropriate colour is attained.
