Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain automatic dialing quickly and accurately by providing an external storage device storing telephone directory information and providing an outgoing object entry fixed key to a keyboard so as to eliminate the entrace of an outgoing object number from the keyboard at each occasion. CONSTITUTION:Telephone directory information 4a comprising an outgoing object name such as name and company name and its corresponding telephone number is stored in an external storage device 4. An outgoing object entry fixed key 2b is provided in addition to conventional keys including a cursor moving key 2a to the keyboard 2. When the operator enters the specific key on the keyboard 2, a central processing unit 3 reads the telephone directory information 4a from the external storage device 4 and displays the name 1b and the telephone number 1c onto a display device 1. The operator observes the pattern of the display device 1 and uses the cursor moving key 2a to move the cursor and to select the outgoing object. After the cursor is placed on the outgoing entry 1a, when the operator enters the outgoing object fixed entry 2b, the central processing unit 3 detects it to select the outgoing entry and to extract the telephone number to be sent to the telephone set 5 with the automatic outgoing/incoming function thereby sending the telephone number automatically to the outgoing object party.
