Abstract

PURPOSE:To form the titled polarizer inexpensively and simply with the use of same components even in different frequency bands by designing the size of a coupling window of a circular waveguide and a rectangular waveguide larger and inserting a conductor plate with a small slit provided thereto between both the windows. CONSTITUTION:Assume that a wave A in orthogonal waves A, B inputted from a circular waveguide 1 is propagated as it is toward a rectangular waveguide 2. Thus, the wave B being orthogonal to the wave A is cut off on the way of the conversion part from the circular waveguide 1 to the rectangular waveguide 2, then not propagated to the rectangular waveguide 2. Moreover, a large coupling window 3 is made to a plane of the circular waveguide 1 in parallel with the plane E of the rectangular waveguide 2, and the conductor plate 5 whose slit 6 has different position and size depending on the frequency band in use is inserted with respect to the rectangular waveguide 4 and the wave B is extracted from the rectangular waveguide 4. Thus, in using the titled polarizer for a different frequency band, the polarizer can cope with the frequency band by having only to replace the conductor plate 5.
