Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a low cost bond magnet having a high coersive force by using a powder consisting of R-Fe-B (R is rare earth metal element) and having a particular average grain size, which has completed heat processing together with reduction agent consisting of metal, as a magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:As a magnetic powder, the power, consisting of R-Fe-B alloy and having average grain size of 1-100mum, having completed the heat processing together with a reduction agent consisting of metal, is used. This power is then ejected for molding with a binder. The magnetic powder, in this case, has already eliminated adverse effect of oxidation to be applied on the magnetic characteristic by the heat processing together with a reduction agent consisting of metal. Therefore, a bond magnet obtained assures excellent magnetic characteristic. When an average grain size of magnetic powder is 1mum or more, since a specific surface area is small and it is inactive, the oxidation of powder does not proceed easily during manufacture. Moreover, when the average grain size is 100mum or less, field orientation may occur easily. Therefore, sufficient magnetic characteristic may be acquired stably and a low cost bond magnet can be obtained because R-Fe-B material is comparatively cheap.
