Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress difference in brightness between the center and periphery and eliminate the color difference of white by providing a fluorescent substance having low light reflectance and large grain sizes in the center of a face panel, and placing a fluorescent substance with higher light reflectance and smaller grain sizes at the periphery of face panel. CONSTITUTION:Existing invention includes a black matrix layer having an opening at the inner surface of a face panel, and separate fluorescent surfaces are provided at this opening for green, blue, and red. At least one of the fluorescent surfaces has a fluorescent substance with low light reflectance and large grain size formed in the central part of the face panel, and a fluorescent substance having higher light reflectance and smaller grain size formed in the peripheral parts of the face panel. This eliminates brightness difference and white color difference between the central and peripheral parts of face panel.
