Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease the leak-ion of a gate voltage to a picture element electrode occurring in the parasitic capacity of a TFT and to decrease the influence of the noise generated in the picture element electrode at the time of decreasing the leak-in by impressing such a gate driving waveform which negates the noise written to the picture element electrode in synchronization with the writing of said noise. CONSTITUTION:Part of the picture element electrode 9 driven by the thin film transistor TFT4 is capacity-coupled to a part of a gate line 3 of the next stage. The gate voltage v1+v2 changing in the direction reverse from the change v1 in the gate voltage of the time when the TFT4 turns off in the gate driving waveform for driving the TFT4 is impressed via the capacity coupling to said v1. Such gate driving waveform as to negate the noise is, therefore, inputted in synchronization with the writing of said noise. The leak-in of the voltage to the picture element electrode 9 occurring in the parasitic capacity 6 of the TFT 4 is thereby decreased and the influence of the noise generated in the electrode 8 at this time is decreased.
