Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain good transfer property and besides, to obtain printing of high quality by prevention of printing from unevenness and blur, by providing a heat melting ink layer containing one kind or not less than two kinds of a first group compound having a specific melting point and/or a second group compound onto a base material. CONSTITUTION:Combination containing compounds from a first group expressed by the formula (I) or a second group expressed by the formula (II) in addition to coloring agent, wax, resin, plasticizer, dispersing agent, etc. are molten by heating and sufficiently mixed. Thereafter, they are applied on a base material composed of, for instance, a polyester film of not more than 10mum in thickness or the like to form a heat melting ink layer, which is taken as a thermal recording medium. Since melting points of those first and second group compounds are within a range of 50-100 deg.C, printing of good quality can be obtained in the case of printing on an ordinary material by using a traditional thermal transfer apparatus. Further, since the compound of the first group has especially an aromatic ring, wax or the like are uniformly melted. Therefore, the heat melting ink layer can easily be separated from the base material in heat printing, and transfer to a OHP film can be easily performed.
