Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce an impact noise by restraining vibration of a carriage during traveling, by a method wherein a fitting position of a medium which gives drive force is so set as to come within a polygon of connecting a gravity center of the carriage to points of application of force at which external force is applied to the carriage. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 2 is arranged between carriage guide axles 5, 6, and a head is fixed to a platen 9 side. A belt 3 is so fixed with a belt fixing plate 7 as to pinch the carriage 2 at a fixing point which is near a position of a gravity center of the carriage 2 upper than guide axis 5, 6 and behind the head 1. When a belt fitting position, the gravity center of the carriage, and contact points of the carriage guide axles with a bearing are made respectively 35, 36, and 37, 38, since a moment between inertia force 31 and driving force 32 is small at this belt fitting position, bearing pressure 34 become also small, and variation of friction force is reduced. Frictional vibration becomes difficult to be generated, and traveling of the carriage is stabilized. Then, printing accuracy is also improved. Further, when the carriage is reversed, though impact noise is generated owing to spaces between the guide axles 5, 6 and the bearing 4, energy of collision motion also decreases when above-mentioned moment is small. Therefore, impact noise is also decreased.
