Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve waste water-treatment efficiency, by charging a carrier into an oxidation tank for waste water and implanting mold microorganisms on the carrier, thereby proliferating autotrophic bacteria in high density.
CONSTITUTION: Beads (carrier) 10 made of e.g. polyethylene are charged into an oxidation tank 3 for the treatment of a waste liquid containing one or more materials such as ferrous ion, sulfur, inorganic sulfur compound or inorganic nitrogen compound. Mold microorganism, e.g. Penicillium which is a kin of mold is attached to the carrier. A nutrient source for the mold microorganism, e.g. glucose is added to the liquid to be treated. Oxidative bacteria are attached to the mold microorganism by this process to enable the cultivation of the bacteria in high concentration.
