Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a radiation exposure dosemeter which can be easily formed in a large size or small size by providing a supporting body having a micro-capsule layer composed of a wall and an internal phase of radiation-colored dye solution. CONSTITUTION: A radiation-colored dye solution is prepared by putting the powder of a radiation-colored dye in a beaker containing a solvent and applying ultrasonic vibrations to the beaker until the dye completely dissolves in the solvent. The internal phase of the dye in the solvent is contained in micro- capsules by using a wall forming material, such as the gum arabic, polyvinyl alcohol, etc. Then a radiation exposure dosemeter is obtained by applying a coating composition composed of the micro-capusles and such a binder as the gelatin, etc., to such a base material as paper, etc. When the size of the radiation exposure dosemeter is to be made larger, a roll type dosemeter having a wide width can be supplied by supplying the material for the dosemeter in the form of a roll and cutting the material with a pair of circular knives faced to each other along the length of the material.
