Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce the title powder as the material for a sintered body having high strength and toughness by introducing a Zr compd., an alkaline soln., a Ca salt soln., and a phosphoric acid soln. into a reaction vessel, and agitating the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A Ca salt soln., a phosphate soln., an alkaline soln., and a Zr salt or hydrated zirconia are introduced into the reaction vessel, mixed, and subjected to a reaction. Alternatively, a slurry obtained by dispersing hydroxyapatite powder in water, an alkaline soln., and a Zr compd. are introduced into the reaction vessel, and mixed. By this method, the hydroxyapatite powder contg. the uniformly dispersed pulverized Zr compd. can be efficiently produced.
