Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A culture vessel obtained by using a porous polymer, such as Porous(R) manufactured by Teijin Ltd. or Entrant(R) manufactured by Toray Industries, Inc., micro-cellular synthetic polymer or glass prepared so as to provide the pore diameter of size with air permeability at the minimum without passing a solution or cells therethrough at the maximum and forming a wall having a thickness larger than that capable of withstanding at least the weight of contents of cells or nutriculture solution into an optional shape, such as bottle or bag. The above-mentioned vessel is sterilized by gas treatment, overheating treatment, etc., to afford the aimed vessel. The nutriculture solution and cells are placed in the afore- mentioned vessel and cultivated to smoothly vent generated gases and reduce foaming in the vessel. The above-mentioned vessel is placed in a water tank and gaseous carbon dioxide is fed and taken in the vessel. The vessel prepared by adjusting so that the pore diameter may pass a solution at the maximum without passing cells therethrough is placed in the water tank and growth components, etc., are added to allow the vessel to stand.
