Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a heat pump system which can supply a stable thermal output to a thermal load by attaching a thermal output buffer device composed of a heating medium pipe provided with heat exchanger fins and containers filled up with a latent heat storage material to a thermal output pipeline section. CONSTITUTION: A heat transporting unit 3 composed of metal hydride container 3A and 3B containing a metal hydride 2 is positioned near a low-quality heat source 1. On the other hand, a heat regenerating unit 6 composed of metal hydride containers 6A and 6B containing a metal hydride 5 is positioned neat a thermal load 4 on a heat utilizing location side. A thermal output buffer device 13 is provided with an adiabatic container 131, a heating medium pipe 133, heat exchanger fins 134, and a latent heat storage material 135 and detachably connected to the heat medium pipe 133 through a joint section 236. The temperature of the heating medium of the heat source 1 is raised by successively switching the containers 3A and 3B in the heat transporting unit 3 and containers 6A and 6B in the heat regenerating unit 6 and the heat is continuously taken out to the thermal load 4 form the unit 6. Sine the heat is taken out through the buffer device 13, the temperature of the heating medium is averaged by means of the buffer device although the temperature of the heating medium drops when the medium is switched by means of three-way change-over switches 7a-7h and stable heat can be supplied to the load 4.
