Abstract

PURPOSE:To stably produce a non-oriented electrical steel sheet having the excellent high tensile property, wear resistance and magnetic characteristics suitable for high-speed rotary machines and electromagnetic switches by coiling a hot rolled sheet formed by hot rolling of a low-carbon steel slab having a specific compsn. under specific temp. conditions and decreasing the P segregation concn. of the grain boundaries, then subjecting the steel to cold rolling and annealing. CONSTITUTION:The steel slab contg., by weight %, <0.01% C, 2.0-3.5% Si, 0.1-10.0% Mn, <0.20% P, 0.10-1.50% Al, <0.008% B, or further <6.0% Ni is hot rolled to form a sheet material and is cooled at >=1,000 deg.C/min average cooling rate from the hot finish rolling down to coiling, then the sheet is coiled at <=550 deg.C to maintain the P segregation concn. of the grain boundary of the steel sheet at <=0.4%. The steel sheet is subjected to the annealing for 5sec-15 min at 500-1,000 deg.C at need to the final sheet thickness and is thereafter finished by annealing for 5sec-15min at 700-900 deg.C.
