Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a flexible and stiff film by a structure wherein a film, which is obtained by kneading and extruding 30-70pts. of low-density polyethylene, 30-70pts. of high-density polyethylene and 5-30pts. of polystyrene so as to have a density of 0.959g/cm<3> or less at normal temperature, is orientated longitudinally so as to turn into sea and islands structure in order to realize a Young's modulus of 30-45kg/cm<2> and a lateral extension ratio at tensile break of 40% or less. CONSTITUTION:A film is produced by uniformly melting and kneading 30-70pts. of low-density polyethylene, 30-70pts. of high-density polyethylene and 5-30pts. of polystyrene and, after that, extruding through a T-die or circular die and then cooling so as to have a density of 0.959g/cm<3> or less at normal temperature. And, the obtained film is longitudinally orientated in order to make fine sea and islands structure. At that time, the Young's modulus of said film is set to be 30-45kg/cm<2> and its lateral extension ratio at tensile break is set to be 40% or less. As a result, an unstretched film, which has flexibility and stiff ness and strongly withstands lateral tear and is very easily torn longitudinally, can be obtained.
