Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a plated product and to stabilize operation by changing over the polarities of plural electrodes so that the electrodes are alternately used as an electrode for reverse electrolysis and an electrode for plating when reverse electrolysis is carried out in the middle of a plating stage. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 1 is preplated with No.1 electrode among plural electrodes as the anode and reverse electrolysis is carried out with No.2 electrode as the cathode. The strip 1 is then plated with each of No.3 electrode - the last electrode as the anode. When the amt. of a plating metal deposited on the No.2 electrode exceeds the limit, the polarities of the No.2 and No.3 electrodes are changed over so that the electrodes are used as the anode and cathode, respectively, and reverse electrolysis is carried out. Since the polarities of the No.2 and No.3 electrodes are alternately changed over, the plating metal deposited on the cathode during reverse electrolysis is dissolved at the time of being changed over to the anode and continuous operation is enabled.
