Abstract
PURPOSE:To make an excitation circuit simple, and to make a laser apparatus small, by disposing an auxiliary capacitor, a first inductor, a second inductor, a saturable inductor and a switching device additionally in a pulsed gas laser. and by applying a voltage which rises sharply and has a high peak value to a pair of main discharge electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary capacitor 4, a first inductor 3, a second inductor 2, a saturation inductor 1, a thyratron 10 and the like are disposed additionally in an excitation circuit of a laser apparatus. That is, the capacitor 4 is connected in parallel with a pair of main discharge electrodes comprised of a high voltage electrode 8 and a grounded electrode 9 of this apparatus, each one end of the inductors 1 and 3 is respectively connected to the electrode 8, and a series circuit comprising an UV spark gap 7 and a peaking capacitor 6 is connected across the electrode 9 and the connection between an inductor 3 and an inductor 2. Moreover, one end of the thyratron 10 is connected to the connection between inductors 1 and 2 through a capacitor, and the other end of the thyratron 10 is connected to the electrode 9, thereby the excitation circuit is simplified to make the laser small.
