Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a patterned woven fabric reproducing the pattern of a stock roll, not having a wrinkle and having a good touch feeling by slitting a stock roll for cut leaves consisting of a Japanese paper as a base material and expressing the pattern on its surface to multiple flat yarns having a narrow width and inserting as weft yarns in a prescribed order so as to make the direction of the fiber of the paper become a width direction. CONSTITUTION: This method for producing a patterned woven fabric is provided by making notches 3 on a stock roll for cut leaves 1 containing a Japanese paper as a base material and expressing the pattern by leaving both ear parts 2 so as to make the direction of the fiber of the Japanese paper become as width direction, i.e., the width direction of the stock roll for the cut leaves 1, slitting the stock roll to multiple flat yarns having a narrow width in a prescribed interval, forming cut leaves by cutting off the flat yarns from the stock roll for cut leaves at the ear parts 2, then inserting the cut leaves as weft yarns in a prescribed order to obtain an objective patterned woven fabric reproducing the pattern originally expressed on the stock roll by parallel rows of the cut leaves inserted as the weft yarns.
