Abstract

PURPOSE:To turn a body to be driven even in the forward direction and the opposite direction by dividing a piezoelectric body vibrator for a Langevin type vibrator or an electrode thereof into sections in the circumferential direction and applying an AC power to one part among them. CONSTITUTION:In a Langevin type vibrator in which piezoelectric body vibrators 13, 14 are held and formed by two metallic blocks 11, 12, electrodes for the piezoelectric body vibrators 13, 14 are divided into a plurality of electrodes 15a, 15b. Piezoelectric body vibrator themselves may also be partitioned at that time. An AC power 21 is connected to either one of these divided electrodes 15a, 15b. Accordingly, the directions of progressive waves generated at a time when the AC power is connected to the electrode 15a and at a time when it is connected to the electrode 15b are opposed, thus turning a body of revolution 22 mounted to an edge face both in the A direction and the B direction.
