Abstract
PURPOSE:To plug a terminal surely into an insertion hole by a method wherein a pitch space of electronic component leads is made to be relatively larger than a space of insertion holes and a guide arm is moved so as to make the pitch space vary correspondently to the insertion holes space. CONSTITUTION:A pallet, which is U-shaped with a left and a right upstanding frames 1a and 1b, is provided with a pair of press plates 3 and 4 and lead widening arms 5 and 6. The upper ends of the lead widening arms 5 and 6 squeeze in the position on the lower end side of lead terminal r1 and r2, and when a cylinder 55 is made to operate, a cam face presses on the lower ends of the widening arms 5 and 6 by sliding a cam platen 53 forward, so that the lead terminals r1 and r2 are kicked in such a direction as the space between the terminals r1 and r2 is made to be larger, and thus the pitch space is made to be relatively wider than the space of the insertion holes of a printed substrate. As a guide arm moves between the ends to such a extent as the space holding position required correspondently to the space of the insertion holes of the substrate, the lead terminals r1 and r2 which are made to be relatively larger in pitch space are to be held down.
