Abstract
PURPOSE: To vary transmitting and receiving characteristics of an ultrasonic probe itself according to a diagnosing depth of an object to be inspected, by changing an inductance of a tuning coil sequentially with reception of an ultrasonic wave shifting from a less to greater diagnosing depth part of an object to be inspected.
CONSTITUTION: A control signal outputted from an ultrasonic wave transmitting/ receiving section not illustrated is inputted from a signal line 3 to transmit an ultrasonic wave from a vibrator 1. As time passes after the transmission of the ultrasonic wave, first and second analog switches SW1 and SW2 are turned ON or OFF properly with reception of the ultrasonic wave shifting from a less to greater diagnosing depth part of an object to be inspected to increase the comprehensive inductance (Lt) of first to third tuning coils 2aW2c. Thus, the resonance frequency (f) is varied to obtain better resolutions in a high ultrasonic component at a less diagnosing depth while efficient reception of a low ultrasonic is possible component at the greater part.
