Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to increase the density of electrodes with respect to a condensation area and to smoothly discharge a condensate by attracting the condensate near to electrodes to allow the condensate to flow between electrodes, and allowing the condensate to flow along inclined ring-shaped electrodes up to a condensate discharge part positioned at the axially lowermost part of the device. CONSTITUTION:When a high voltage is applied between a condensation tube and inclined electrodes 2 upon the condensation of a gas, a condensate generated by the condensation of the gas on the surface of a condensation tube 1 is attracted near to the electrodes 2 by an electric hydrodynamical action and flows between electrodes 2 and along ring-shaped electrodes into a condensate discharge part 5 positioned at the axially lowermost part of the heat exchanger. The condensate passes through clearances of straight line parts 6 formed in parallel to each other and is shifted from the open parts 7 of the tip ends of the straight-line parts 6 to a condensate guide main path 8, thus naturally flowing downward. In this case, when the condensate discharge part is provided at each electrode, it is made possible to narrow the interval at which electrodes are installed, the discharge of the condensate becomes smooth and the liquid film formed on the surface of the condensate pipe becomes thin and the condensation heat transfer coefficient can be improved.
