Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the dissipation of electrodes due to the corrosion and to prevent the contamination of the fused metal and the like, by forming a tubular body having a flow path of the fused metal by a heat resistant conductive material having the property of withstanding the current from the electrodes provided on the outside of the tubular body. CONSTITUTION:The flow path 2 is formed in the tubular body 1 comprising the material having the suitable conductivity, heat-resistant property, and the property of withstanding the corrosion due to the molten metal. Side blocks 4 having inlet and outlet ports 5 are provided at the opening portions of both sides of the flow path, and magnetic poles 6 are provided on both sides thereof. Electrodes 3 are provided at the outside of the tubular body 1 so that they oppose each other. A voltage is applied on the electrodes and a current is supplied to the fused metal in the flow path 2. Since the current is conducted through the wall of the tubular body 1, the electrodes 3 do not directly conact the fused metal, and the problems of the dissipation of the electrodes 3 due to the corrosion and the contamination of the fused metal and the like can be eliminated.
