Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the performance of a heat pump by a method wherein mixed refrigerant, whose principal constituent is a refrigerant having a saturated pressure at the inlet port temperature of heat source fluid upon operation lower than an atmospheric pressure and whose boiling point difference of refrigerant constituents is within a specified range, is employed. CONSTITUTION: In a heat pump, equipped with an evaporator 9, a centrifugal compressor 10, a condenser 8 and an evacuating mechanism 11 and forming a refrigerant circulating flow passage by connecting these instruments through a refrigerant route, at least a part near the outlet port unit of the evaporator 9 is constituted of a full-liquid type evaporator structure whereby the power loss of the compressor due to a pressure loss can be reduced and the refrigerant side of a heat transfer wall is under wetted condition at all times while a heat transfer performance is excellent and a heat exchanging amount is increased. On the other hand, a mixed refrigerant, whose saturated pressure at the inlet port temperature of heat source liquid upon operation is lower than an atmospheric pressure and the principal constituent thereof is refrigerant having the molecular formula of Ck Hl Clm Fn (here: k is an integer higher than 2, (l) is an integer higher than 1 and m+n is an integer higher than 1) while the difference of boiling points of refrigerant constituent in the mixed refrigerant is higher than 20 deg.C and lower than 60 deg.C, is employed whereby the improvement of performance of the heat pump (energy saving) can be obtained.
