Abstract

PURPOSE:To make unnecessary the setting of a timer depending on the amount of rice to be steamed, etc., and carry out automatic rice steaming by a method wherein the temp. of the bottom of a steaming container is directly detected by a temp. sensor in preventing heating unevenness at the time of microwave heating by the use of a turntable. CONSTITUTION:High-frequency waves are supplied from a supply port 23 into a steaming chamber 3 by a magnetron 21 placed above the ceiling 22 of the chamber 3. In a turntable device installed at the bottom part of the room 3 a geared motor 26 is placed under the bottom plate 25 of the chamber 3 and the rotating shaft 27 of the motor passing through a through-hole 28 bored nearly at the center part of the plate 25 is protruded into the chamber 3. Into the upper end of the through-hole 29 of the shaft 27 a temp. detector 31 with a buried temp. sensor 30 is inserted slidably in vertical direction and this temp. detector is energized upwards by a spring 32 at all times. On the other hand, at the upper end part of the shaft 27 a placing stand 33 is fixed and on its upper surface a cooking container such as a rice steamer 34, etc., is placed and rotated.
