Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable formation of a glass composition having excellent weather resistance, not being made into fine pieces in destruction, readily providing strength about 1.5-2.5 times the strength of raw plate glass, by using a specific glass composition. CONSTITUTION:The glass composition has the following composition. Namely 72.7-74.2wt.% SiO2, 1.6-3.0wt.% Al2O3, 6.5-8.5wt.% CaO, 2.0-4.0wt.% MgO, 10.5-13.0wt.% Na2O, 0.5-3.0wt.% K2O, >=97wt.% sum of these components and further 74.7-76.7wt.% SiO2+Al2O3, 9.0-12.0wt.% CaO+MgO and 12.0-14.5wt.% Na2O+K2O. The glass composition is required to have 635-665 deg.C viscosity temperature to become 10<10> poise and 545-565 deg.C viscosity temperature to become 10<13> poise and difference in both the temperatures of 95-103 deg.C.
