Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable separation of high-performance O2 and N2 under low-temperature and high-pressure adsorption condition, by leading a mixed gas of N2 and O2 to plural adsorption columns filled with Na-X type zeolite, adsorbing and desorbing the N2 under respective specific condition. CONSTITUTION:A mixed gas consisting essentially of O2 and N2 is flowed into plural adsorption columns filled with Na-X type zeolite as an N2 adsorbent below ambient temperature - -30 deg.C under 1-3atm. to selectively adsorb the N2 contained in the mixed gas. The adsorption column under pressurized condition after discharging an O2-enriched gas from the outlet of the adsorption column and adsorbing N2 and adsorption column under reduced pressure condition after regeneration by desorbing and recovering the N2 under reduced pressure condition of 0.05-0.5atm. are communicated on the downstream side thereof to transfer O2 remaining in the adsorption column under the pressurized condition to the adsorption column under the reduced pressure condition after completing regeneration to increase the N2 concentration in the adsorption column under the pressurized condition. Furthermore, the product N2 gas is flowed in the same direction as the introducing direction of the mixed gas to increase the N2 purity in the adsorption column. The adsorption column is subsequently decompressed to 0.05-0.5atm. so as to recover high-purity N2 and simultaneously regenerate the adsorbent.
