Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cooling effect of a mold and to attempt to shorten a cycle of injection molding, by controlling at least either flow rate or temp. of a cooling medium flowing in a mold so as to coincide with the resin filling cycle. CONSTITUTION:While a cooling medium heated by means of a heater 8 is being cycled in a mold 3 by means of a pump 4, temp. of the mold 3 is gradually elevated and at the time when it reaches nearly a set temp. T1, electric current to the heater 8 is turned off. Thereafter, when the mold temp. is stabilized at the set temp. T1, a warming-up period is finished and an injection signal is output to an injection molding machine 2. An electromagnetic valve 9 becomes off and an electromagnetic valve 10 becomes on. Filling of a resin in the mold 3 is started, and cooling the cooling medium by means of a cooler 7 is started. When the mold temp. t2 begins to be lowered, the electromagnetic valve 9 is set on and the electromagnetic valve 10 is set off, and heating of the cooling medium is started. As cooling and heating of the cooling medium is pulsatingly carried out in one filling cycle, the mold temp. elevated by filling the resin can be quickly lowered to a proper temp.
