Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a skin layer from falling off under loading and to improve surface peeling resistance, by reducing the surface skin layer due to flow orientation. CONSTITUTION:In injection molding or transfer molding, turburent flow is generated on the surface of ultra-high MW polyethylene filled in a cavity by setting projected stripes extended roughly in the perpendicular direction to the flow direction of the resin on the mold surface or by roughening the surface of the mold cavity 3 to reduce the occurrence of a skin layer due to flow orientation. A ultra-high MW polyethylene resin poured in the cavity 3 through a gate 4 flows from the center of the cavity 3 toward to the outer circumference. A plurality of circular grooves corresponding to the projected stripes are formed on a molded item obtained. In this case, to reduce sufficiently the skin layer, the depth (a) of this groove and the thickness (d) of the molded item satisfy a relation represented by a formula: d/1000<=a<=d/10 and the width (b) of the groove and the depth (a) satisfy a relation represented by a formula: a/10<=b<=5a. Moreover, it is preferable that the pitch (p) of the groove and the width (b) satisfy a relation represented by formula: b<p<=100 b.
