Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove paint mists completely, by causing discharge air from a pint booth to flow upwardly through a discharge air treating chamber at a mean wind velocity of 1.7X/sec or lower and discharging it through a demister. CONSTITUTION:A discharge air treating system 1 comprises a discharge air treating chamber 2 which extends horizontally to communicate with a discharge air duct 6 coming out of a painting chamber 7 and a discharge air treating chamber 3 which extends vertically and has an opening at its upper end. At the opening portion of the chamber 3 a demister 5 is provided to remove paint mists from the discharge air and straighten the flow of air. Air is made to flow in the discharge air chamber at a wind velocity of 1.7m/sec or lower. Consequently, by causing the discharge air to flow upwardly from under at a portion where the air goes to the outside, the paint mists are made to fall down to be completely removed by means of the demister provided at the discharge port portion.
