Abstract

PURPOSE:To correct the contour of a video and to improve the picture quality by applying an output signal being the result of mixing one of positive and a negative differentiation signals obtained through the slicing of a differentiation signal of a luminance signal to the other while the polarity is inverted to the 1st grid of a CRT. CONSTITUTION:A chrominance signal is eliminated from an output signal of a 1st video amplifier circuit 1 via a chrominance signal eliminating circuit 2 and the luminance signal eliminated with the chrominance signal is differentiated by a differentiation circuit 3 and given to a negative slice circuit 4 and a positive slice circuit 5. The negative differentiation signal from the circuit 5 is inputted to a mixing circuit 6 and added therein. Moreover, the circuit 7 gives a blanking pulse to eliminate the synchronizing signal portion. The contour correction signal being positive obtained in this way is fed to a base of a contour correction drive transistor 8 and the contour correction is applied at the 1st grid of the CRT 16. Thus, the frequency band is made narrow to apply contour correction, thereby improving the picture quality.
