Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily obtain a manual picture input editing and storing plural originals by managing a memory required to store one original from original picture information in the unit of pages. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 103 selects a page (l) of the memory to store picture information of one original to be read next from a page selection circuit 102. Thus, the linear picture signal from an image sensor 104 is written sequentially on the page (l) at every position detection signal of the sub scanning of the encoder 105 to read and store one original. The memory required to store one original consists of the memory capacity of K pages in the unit of pages as the frame memory 101. The value K is selected as K=mXn (m, n are natural numbers). Thus, the size of the original to be read is magnified by a multiple of (m) in a horizontal direction and a multiple of (n) in a vertical direction. Thus, the picture is read consecutively to increase the original size as a fact and the page of the memory is designated optionally, then the picture is edited in various ways.
