Abstract

PURPOSE:To record both long lengthwise image and long sideways image by selecting the direction of an image with respect to a recording medium and sequentially changing a reading area and a reading direction according to the selected directions of the image with respect to the reading of an image memory. CONSTITUTION:Operation for reading out from the image memory 2 of a controller 4a with a photographing command is executed in such a way that an address is generated from the controller 4a so as to sequentially read out one pixcel and another from the position of the head of the memory 2 and it is converted in a format conversion circuit 12 so that it becomes a reading address for executing drawing on a film 10 in accordance with a recording form to be given to the memory 2, then the image data is read out from the memory 2. The circuit 12 changes the order of address of the memory 2 and optionally changes the reading area and the reading direction of the images stored in the memory 2, then the direction of the image is changed according to the recording form on the film 10 so as to execute drawing. Thus, both long lengthwise image and long sideways image can be recorded.
