Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled coating agent containing a polymer having organosilyl group or organosiloxane group on side chain, usable without restriction of pot-life, dryable quickly, resistant to blistering and peeling and having excellent interlaminar adhesivity and long-term antifouling performance.
CONSTITUTION: The objective coating agent is composed of (A) one or more monomers of formula [X is H or methyl; n is 2W5; m is ≥0; R1WR5 are alkyl, alkoxy, (substituted) phenyl or (substituted) phenoxy; at least one of R1WR5 is not methyl], (B) 5W95wt.% (based on A+B) of one or more vinyl- polymerizable monomers (e.g. methyl methacrylate) and, as necessary, (C) 1W70wt.% (based on A+B+C) of a surface lubricant (e.g. paraffin wax). There is no dissipation of coating film even if the coating film is in contact with sea water. Accordingly, the antifouling activity lasts long to prevent the damage of a marine construction, etc., with adhesive aquatic life.
