PURPOSE:To make such an enclosed cell that is small in internal resistance and excellent in a discharge characteristic securable by attaching an upper part of a connection between cells made up of welding both poles of adjacent positive and negative plate groups via partition walls of a battery jar tightly to a lower part of a cover back projecting part. CONSTITUTION:An electrolyte is almost kept in positive and negative plates 5, 6 and in a separator with liquid retentivity, having an nonfluidized electrolyte in substance, and a battery jar 2 and a cover 3 are thermally deposited together. An upper part of a connection 8 between cells made up of welding both poles 7 of positive and negative plate groups 5, 6 being adjoined to this battery jar 4 via each partition wall 4 is tightly attached to a lower part of a cover back projecting part 9. With this constitution, since there is unnecessary to attach a forming split metal pattern to the connection between cells and to form a cover body, each height of both polarities of these positive and negative plate groups 5, 6 can be lowered, thus internal resistance is reduced and, what is more, such a cell that is excellent in a discharge characteristic is realizable.
