Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily detect the installation position of a section measuring instrument by detecting the installation position from the distance to a photodetection member and the angles of measurement wave radiation directions at a predetermined reference position and a collimation position. CONSTITUTION:When a tunnel is digged, a reference laser beam 11 whose position can be recognized previously by measurement on a working face side is projected on nearly the tunnel flank. A support base 13 is installed near the light beam 11, an iron plate is fixed at its proper height, and the magnet stand of a support arm 14 is fitted to the iron plate by attraction. Then a cylinder tube 12 is adjusted and moved to the position where the light beam 11 travels through the hole of the cylinder tube 12. The section measuring instrument 1 is installed in the breadthwise center part of the tunnel and the main body of the measuring instrument 1 is adjusted to the horizontal by the level provided to the main body, thereby adjusting the direction wherein laser pulses are emitted to the horizon.
