Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the folding property of a packaging material after breaking the seal thereof, by laminating a specified biaxially oriented film and a heat seal layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat seal layer is provided on one side of a biaxially oriented film, consisting of the copolymer of polyethylene terephthalate having a yield point in the stress-strain curve thereof and satisfying the relation of 0.003<=N1-N0<=0.021 when the average indexes of refract ion of unoriented film and biaxially oriented film are shown by No, N1. The PET unit of the copolymer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is preferably 70-95mole%. The copolymer of PET or the copolymer of isophthalic acid, for example, which is hard to crystallize comparatively, is preferable. According to this method, the folding property of the material is prominent and heat seal can be effected, therefore, the operability of the packaging material upon making a gusseted bag or the like may be improved and a folding line may be made nicely upon re-sealing after breaking the seal in the case of a small bag.
