Abstract
PURPOSE:To form the title crank shaft with high accuracy and less die changes and heating times by forming the integral whole throw having a pin between crank plates adjoining the shaft on the axial line by a forming die on the same axial core line and twisting each throw around the shaft. CONSTITUTION:The whole throw 22 of a crank shaft composed by the combination of the integral throws 22 having a pin 21 between crank plates 20 adjoining the shaft 23 located on the axial line is subjected to press forming by heating it on the same axial core line by forming dies 25, 26. Thereafter, each throw 22 is held by a die chuck 27 and twisted to the specified angle around a crank shaft 23 by turning a gear 31 with the rotation of a pinion 34. Since an integral crank shaft is formed with less die changes and heating times the accuracy is high, the post man-hour in machining can be reduced and the material yield is improved.
