Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate degradation of characteristic due to aging, by forming a friction layer through zigzag micro welding of abrasion-resistant material onto a contact face between a vibration member and a moving member.
CONSTITUTION: An annular supersonic motor has an annular vibration member 1 provided with a longitudinal notch 8. An annular electrostriction ceramic material 2 is welded to the vibration member 1. A partially cut chip of an annular moving member 4 in pressure contact with the vibration member 1 is rotated through annular motion caused by vibration traveling wave fed from the vibration member 1. A friction layer 7 is provided on the contact face between the vibration member 1 and the moving member 4 through zigzag micro welding of abrasion-resistant material. WC, TiC, etc., are employed as the abrasion-resistant material, and a layer having the thickness of 10∼25μm is formed through micro welding. Consequently, the friction layer 7 having surface roughness lower than 10μRmax can be formed easily, and high torque rotation can be produced stably.
