Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly dry the molded form of green stock of a pottery or the like in a short time without deforming the molded form by charging the molded form of green stock into a vacuum chamber and treating it in the evacuate atmosphere and the vacuum atmosphere and thereafter projecting hot waves such as microwave thereto. CONSTITUTION:The molded form of green stock of a pottery and the other ceramic soil and rocks is charged into a vacuum chamber. Herein water content of the surface of a material to be dried which is the above-mentioned molded form is subjected to surface evaporation in the evacuate atmosphere and the vacuum atmosphere under low temp. of positive temp. Thereafter the material to be dried is irradiated with microwaves and the other hot waves from the outside in the evacuate atmosphere and the vacuum atmosphere. The water content of the inside of the material to be dried is heated by this irradiation and diffused to the surface from the inside and thereby surface evaporation are balanced with inner diffusion. Thereby a product free from a strain and a crack is obtained by uniformly shrinking the stock in a short time and drying it.
