Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the increase in the space and cost of equipment to be prevented by providing a traveling carriage with functions by which empty pallets can be removed from or supplied to a plurality of pallet stations. CONSTITUTION:A traveling carriage 1 is moved to a position adjacent to a work station WS where goods W are carried in and a pallet station PS corresponding thereto. The goods W on the station WS are held by the holding device 12 of a robot type transfer device 11 on the traveling carriage 1, and is transferred by the transfer device 11 on the pallet P of the station PS. In the same manner, the traveling carriage 1 is moved to a position adjacent to a station PS where the pallet is empty, and a pallet P is supplied from a pallet loading device 5 on the traveling carriage 1 to the station PS. Thus, the pallet supplying function can be concentrated on the traveling carriage, and it becomes unnecessary to arrange a plurality of devices each of which carries out the pallet supply to each individual pallet station, consequently the increase in the space and cost of equipment can be suppressed.
