Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of an electric power by displacing a carriage in the direction separated from the recording face of a disk medium at the time when the carriage is guided by sliding it outside the zone capable of recording/reproducing. CONSTITUTION:The end part of the carriage 6 elastically interposing a subguide shaft 8 by the upper end part 6a and a sheet spring 12' is driven by rocking it centering around a main guide shaft 7 in the direction separated from the recording face of a magnetic sheet 3 at the time when the carriage 6 is guided by sliding to the outside L2 of a recordable and reproduceable zone by setting the dimension in the vertical direction to the recording face of the magnetic sheet 3 of the subguide shaft 8 smaller at the part of the outside L2 of the zone capable of recording and reproducing than the part of the inside L1 thereof and a magnetic head 5 is separated from the recording face of the magnetic sheet 3. At the unusing time or during waiting for an operation of a video floppy disk (VFD) 1' the carriage 6 is moved by sliding it in an arrow mark 17 direction, the magnetic head 5 is separated from the recording face of the magnetic sheet 3, the interposition of the magnetic sheet 3 by the magnetic head 5 and a pad 14 is released and no head mark is formed on the recording face of the magnetic sheet 3.
