Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled derivative, useful as a solvent for water ink, emulsifier, etc., having a cyclic acetal bonding or ketal bonding in the molecule with low viscosity and solidifying point and high boiling point and flash point. CONSTITUTION:For example, a compound expressed by formula III is synthesized and the product is oxyalkylenated, followed by etherification or esterification, as necessary, to afford the aimed derivative expressed by formula I{B represents residue of a compound having 3-20 hydroxy groups; formula II represents acetal or ketal formed by two 1,2- or 1,3-carbon atoms with both hydroxyl and carbonyl compound R<1>R<2>C=O (R<1> and R<2> respectively represent H or C1-7 hydrocarbon group and R<1> and R<2> may link with each other to form a ring); AO represents C2-18 oxyalkylene; R represents C1-24 hydrocarbon group or acyl; a and b are 1-100; l is 1-9; m and n are 0-18; provided that 2l+m+n=3-20 and m and n are not 0 at the same time}.
