Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A meso-tartaric acid amide derivative which is a host compound, expressed by the formula (R1-R4 are 1-10C primary, secondary or tertiary alkyl and aralkyl, 5-15C alicyclic or aromatic group) and capable of forming a clathrate complex with compounds, such as alcohols, diols, phenols, aromatic diols, amines, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids, esters, amides or amino acids, as a guest compound. EXAMPLE:A 1:1 clathrate compound of N,N,N',N'' tetracyclohexyl-mesotartaric acid diamide with s-butanol. USE:Used for forming crystals of a clathrate complex using various organic compounds as a guest compound and useful for including medicines, agricultural chemicals, perfumes, etc. PREPARATION:For example, two carboxyl groups of meso-tartaric acid are converted into acid chlorides and reacted with dicyclohexylamine to afford the aimed compound expressed by the formula.
