Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound maintaining effects for a long period, showing excellent effects, by attaching a slightly water-soluble organic substance such as solid paraffin, stearic acid or tung oil to the surface of ferrous sulfate by solvent method, melt method or ball mill method. CONSTITUTION:About 0.5-20wt.% slightly water-soluble organic substance (especially preferably wax, higher fatty acid and drying oil having <=0.1g/100l water at normal temperature and resins having <=200 deg.C melting point) is attached to the surface of ferrous sulfate by dissolving the organic substance in a solvent, blending the solution with ferrous sulfate powder and evaporating the solvent, by blending the organic substance with the ferrous sulfate powder while heating, melting and cooling or by adding powdery wax and the ferrous sulfate powder to a ball mill and rotating for 20-60 minutes to give sustained release ferrous sulfate having <=2mm average particle diameter and a small amount of particles having >=3mm particle diameters. The composition is useful as a soil fungicide and a deodorant.
