Abstract

PURPOSE:To multiply the etching ratio for miniaturizing a capacitor in high capacity by a method wherein an aluminum alloy foil containing specific metal is made of a cathode foil. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum alloy foil containing either one metal out of chrome, molybdenum and tungsten is used as an anode 2 with a dielectric oxide film 1 formed on a surface roughened by electrolytic etching process and a cathode 3 forming an aluminum electrolytic capacitor together with an electrolyte and a separator 4. Thus, the etching ratio of cathode 3 can be multiplied to facilitate the roughening process without fail. Consequently, the aluminum electrolytic capacitor in high capacity can be miniaturized. Additionally, it is recommended that the metallic content is 0.005-0.1 weight % while the aluminum alloy foil contains 0.1-0.3 weight % of copper and 0.01-0.5 weight % of iron.
