Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve an accurate detection, by detecting a phase difference between two absolute angles of rotation to be combined with a first absolute angle of rotation. CONSTITUTION:A fine angle of rotation of an arm is detected with a first resolver Re13, a zerocross comparator 7 and a first R/D converter 9. The resolver Re13 rotates 15 times while the resolver Re15 does 16 times until they Re13 and 15 coincides with each other in the phase difference. The phase difference is checked with a second R/D converter 16 to detect a rough angle of rotation. A low order bit of an output of the converter 9 is combined with a high order bit from the converter 16 by a synthesizer 17 to obtain multiple rotation absolute phase information and thus an absolute angle of rotation is obtained, thereby enabling easy and accurate detection of the absolute angle of rotation eliminating the need for a large reduction gear.
