Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce Mo giant grains or single crystals without requiring extremely high temp. heating by subjecting a Ti- and Zr-contg. Mo sintered body to working at specific working ratio and a heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:The Mo sintered body contg., by weight, 0.1-2% Ti or 0.1-2% Zr with inevitable impurities is worked at >=50% working ratio to arrange the crystal direction of the sintered body. Said sintered body is then subjected to the heat treatment at the temp. of 1,600-<2,000 deg.C and at <=30cm/hr feeding ratio by a continuous furnace, etc., and the recrystallization structure is formed into the giant grains or single crystals. By this method, the Mo giant grains or single crystals suitable for a laser mirror, etc., can be produced without high temp. heating.
